Originally from New York, Rebekah Fedele moved to Florida when she was young. She began her pre-professional training at the St. Augustine Dance Conservatory, and she continued her training there throughout high school. While at SADC Rebekah performed many pieces such as Winter Fairy in Cinderella, the Act II Pas de Deux from Le Corsaire, and Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. During the summers she attended various summer programs including Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Grand Rapids Ballet, and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy New York City and Moscow. When Rebekah was 17, she received a full scholarship to study ballet and Russian Language at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia after spending a summer there. That same year she had the opportunity to perform at Regional Dance America in Phoenix, Arizona.
After graduating high school, Rebekah auditioned and was accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in classical ballet under Dean Susan Jaffe and later under Dean Endalyn Taylor Outlaw. She has worked with numerous choreographers including Preston Miller, Casey Noblett, Ilya Kozadayev, Susan McCullough, Jenelle Figgins, Abdur-Rahim Jackson, Keith Lee, Sarah Messenger, and Susan Downey. Throughout her training, Rebekah has enjoyed performing various roles from ballets such as Cinderella, Raymonda, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht, Harald Lander’s Études, August Bournonville’s Napoli, and Ethan Stiefel’s The Nutcracker. After graduating from UNCSA Rebekah was hired to guest dance as Cinderella in St. Augustine Dance Conservatory’s full-length production of Cinderella.
Along with her dancing career, Rebekah is also a photographer. She has done numerous photoshoots for people and has taken photos in places such as Florida, North Carolina, New York, and Russia. She focuses mainly on photographing dancers, couples, families, senior portraits, modeling portraits, headshots, landscapes, and architecture. Her work experience includes teaching dance classes, particularly ballet and pointe classes. She has retail experience and has worked at Nike, and in 2020 Rebekah received her NAUI Open Water Scuba Diving certification. Rebekah is grateful for the wonderful opportunities she has had thus far and looks forward to being in Charleston and dancing in her first season with Palmetto City Ballet.
